I was born and raised in Matfors; a rural village near the coastal city of Sundsvall, Sweden. After studies at Kapellsberg’s School of Music, I continued my studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Maureen Braithwaite, and completed a BMus(Hons). As a winner of the Joseph Weingarten scholarship, I also studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary with professor Boldizsár Keönch. After returning to Birmingham my career has included many soloistic, operatic and chamber music projects, combined with a portfolio of vocal teaching and choral conducting work.
A founding member of the Linnaeus Baroque Ensemble, I take a special interest in Baroque repertoire and love focusing on the relationship between poetry and music in art songs from all backgrounds. Recital programmes frequently contain works by known and unknown composers from England, Ireland, Sweden, Hungary, Germany, France and Italy amongst others. In the past, I have toured both Sweden, England and Hungary with various chamber music settings, song recital programmes and soloistic appearances. I have also appeared as a soloist on the albums ‘Spirit of Song’ with Phoenix Singers and ‘Fauré i Liden’ with Lidens Kyrkokör. In 2020, I will release the album ‘Nocturnes’ together with pianist Sara Wilander.
